Imp Event Logs
Important Event Logs capture a record of significant activities and major occurrences within your Shopify store. These logs provide a high-level overview of critical actions, such as:
- Product Management: Creation or deletion of products.
- Order Management: Creation or deletion of orders.
- Other Significant Actions: Various other key activities that impact your store's operation.
Event Originators
These logs can be generated from a variety of sources:
- Admins: Actions performed by store administrators.
- Staff Members: Activities carried out by your store's staff.
- Storefront Actions: Events initiated directly from the customer-facing storefront, such as:
- A customer creating or deleting an order.
- A customer adding items to their cart.
Scope and Detail
While crucial for tracking key actions, it's important to understand the level of detail provided by Important Event Logs:
- Basic Overview: These logs offer a fundamental summary of the activity.
- Limited Detail: They do not include in-depth information or extensive context surrounding the action.
- Example: If a product is deleted, the log will record that a specific product was removed. However, it will not capture details such as:
- Who initiated the deletion (e.g., specific Admin or staff member).
- Specific product attributes like its image, direct link, or other detailed characteristics.
- Example: If a product is deleted, the log will record that a specific product was removed. However, it will not capture details such as:

In summary, Important Event Logs are valuable for monitoring major activities and understanding what happened, but they are not designed for in-depth analysis of how or who was involved in a particular action. For more granular details, other logging mechanisms may be required.
